In 1988, Bheki and Edith met at African Christian College, then known as Manzini Bible School. They came to grow in God’s Word and to prepare for mission work wherever the Lord would lead them.
But God had even more in store.
Love began to blossom between them, and they chose to walk a shared path of calling and commitment. In the same year they graduated, they were married, forming a union to serve side-by-side in God’s mission for life.

Like many African Christian College graduates, they left not only with a certificate, but with a dream, a calling, and a vision to advance God’s mission to the ends of the earth.
Edith developed a strong passion for children’s ministry, especially after her final year internship at Bethany Church of Christ, where she discovered her heart for serving young people.
Bheki, on the other hand, grew deeply committed to evangelism and motor vehicle mechanics. In the years after graduation, he taught motor vehicle mechanics to equip others with practical skills for self-sustaining ministry.

Around the same time, together with a college team, they helped plant Matsapha Church of Christ, a ministry grounded in intentional evangelism and church planting.
“We were still meeting in a rented apartment at Matsapha Prison, but the dream of having our own church building was burning in our hearts,” Bheki recalled. As the ministry grew through active evangelism, children ministry, baptisms, and discipleship, the need for a permanent structure became urgent. Their vision was not only for a church building, but also for a clinic within the same facility so the community could receive help throughout the week. Such a vision required strong leadership, teamwork, and resource mobilization, and by God’s grace, the work began.
Through dedication, collaboration, and significant support from the Netherwood Church of Christ in the USA, the church building was eventually completed and services began there. Eventually, the Mathangeni Medical Clinic would open next to the church and serve hundreds of patients each month. “It was exactly what we had been dreaming of, and God made it happen,” Bheki said with gratitude.

Today, Edith and Bheki have served in ministry for nearly forty years and continue to work together in advancing God’s mission. “The secret is trusting God, working with others, and sharing responsibilities so that the work is never about one person,” they explain.
Matsapha Church of Christ now runs multiple ministries, including children’s programs, evangelism, youth work, intergenerational ministry, and benevolence outreach. Their vision remains focused on transforming lives through the gospel, education, and healthcare.

“If I had not attended African Christian College and learned what it truly means to be a minister of the Word, I do not think I would have succeeded in supporting my husband and partnering with him in ministry,” Edith shared.
Their story is one of teamwork, sacrifice, faith, and love for both God and people. We are honored as African Christian College to celebrate their Kingdom impact and grateful that their journey together began while they were students with us.

True servants of God. Hard working and dedicated. Raised a wonderful family. We love them.
