My African Christian College phase has been the most memorable experience that will forever be engraved in my heart and will surely feature in my obituary. It has not been easy, but the Lord kept my head up high straight towards the finish line, and I know for sure that I wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for him. My name is Simiso Ndwandwe, from the Kingdom of Eswatini. In about a month’s time I will be presented with my Bachelor of Theology Degree, with a major in Organizational Leadership.
When I took the life detour towards understanding God and being a servant of the kingdom, I had a slightly clear picture of what I wanted, but what I knew certainly was that I would be equipped on how to preach. In my cultural and social context, studying Theology simply means that you are going to be taught how to preach the word of God. However, my three years at African Christian College has broadened and changed my perspective on that aspect. Now I know that there is more in the Kingdom of God than just explaining scriptures; we need to help people realise their potential and purpose in life. This may be achieved through developing our communities, helping the helpless, pleading the case of the defenceless, and many more good deeds that will bring the Shalom and light of God into our universe.
Now that I am going back home, the Kingdom of Heaven is the centre of my road map. I am passionate about the youth. Therefore, I plan to go and help them realise their potential. Eswatini, like any other African country, is suffering from lack of adequate employment, thus, entrepreneurial empowerment is a necessity. Above all, I want to win souls for Christ, I plan to use every opportunity at my disposal to preach the Gospel, and help disciple God’s people towards the Great Commission.
I am confident and impatiently looking forward to being in the battle field, because I am now a fully-fledged soldier of Christ, clothed with the entire armour. Just as the mission of the institution stipulates, I am equipped for excellent service in the Kingdom of God. And, I believe that God Almighty already has a well- structured mission for me to complete. He has led me this far not to leave me. Thank You African Christian College family, may God continue to bless you.
