My name is Relebohile Melao. I originate from the beautiful, ageless Maluti Mountains in the Kingdom of Lesotho but recently I’ve been living in Botswana. I come from a family of four of which I am the last born.
I grew up in a loving, Christian family and accepted Jesus at a young age. Ever since then, my life was dedicated to Christ. I was actively involved in different types of departments at church like ushering, the music team, and the Sunday school.
When I was in my final year of high school, I made a decision that I would go to a college that would enhance my Christian life. It is no secret that these days’ young people — even Christians — go astray the moment they reach to college. However, that does not mean that I was afraid of resisting temptation, but I was fascinated by the idea of growing spiritually and at the same time growing academically. I wanted to be a godly environment that will challenge me to be a better person.
Luckily, I had the technology to help me find what I wanted and that is how I got to know about African Christian College. I remember logging on to the internet and searching for Christian colleges in southern Africa and I found this college. I went through the details and from that moment decided that I wanted to be here. Because I was still in high school at that time, my sister, who is now in her second year came to African Christian College before me. It even made everything easier for me because I had someone to tell me about the experience and, yes, she did encourage me to apply and I was happy to be accepted.
So far, I have been overwhelmed by the excellent work that is happening here. The place is even better than I thought: from the classes to the weekday devotions, the Sunday Bible study and Wednesday service (which happens to be my favorite). God is really doing something amazing and he is at work. I have never been in a place where people honor God in everything that they do, which is one of the things that inspires me to wake up in the morning and try to be a better person than yesterday.
African Christian College is a place to be. I would definitely encourage anyone to be here to witness God’s work in this place. I am certain that when I finish my degree in this place, I will go back home totally transformed. I am going to put everything that I have been taught here into good use.
Being here was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I am forever grateful to God for leading me to this place. I could have never been in a better place than this.
