Jerran: My Desire to Grow in God’s Knowledge

My name is Jerran Waako from Uganda, East Africa. I come from a family of six, including my parents, my brother, and two sisters. Most of my life I have lived with my family in Kampala which is my country’s capital city.

I started school at a Roman Catholic school and then joined a secondary school where I managed to get awarded two certificates, one for the completion of my Ordinary Level (O’ Level) and the second one for Advanced Level (A’ Level). In my leisure time I like reading books especially e-books, learning new languages, checking out all my social media platforms, and playing soccer or computer games.

So, my journey to African Christian College began when I was told about the college by my younger brother, Gavin Waako, who is doing his second year of studies. After getting information from him, I dug deep and got more information concerning the college. Then I decided to apply and after months of waiting, I finally received an email from the Admissions Coordinator with an acceptance letter attached. This was one of the happiest moments of my life because I had been offered an opportunity to attend school at African Christian College which would help me expand my knowledge on God’s Inspired Word, the Bible, and to obtain a quality education as well.

During my stay at African Christian College, I want to grow and improve my knowledge in the Word of God as well as his Kingdom. On top of that, I would like to learn better leadership skills and use them to create a good relationship between the Christians back in my home country and the church. And I hope to do many other things that will enable my Ugandan Christian community understand God better.
