My name is Timothy Rinopisa and I am from Zimbabwe. I am married to Julia Rinopisa and God blessed us with children. Through the grace of God, I have been working as a full time pastor of the Church of Christ for more than 10 years.
When I first heard about African Christian College and accessed more information about it, there were some reasons that inspired me to come with my family and study the bachelor of theology. I wanted the opportunity to study together with my family and other families from other countries so that I could learn how others in their different countries worship God. In addition, the fact that now things are changing and pastors must as well be educated, I decided to come and study and have enough knowledge about the vocation I’m in.
When I decided to apply, there were two things that I believed will transform my life both spiritually and physically. Firstly, the leadership courses that are offered stirred my mind to make a choice of applying for the program. As a pastor, I saw an opportunity of growing and becoming a good leader and preacher in my church back in Zimbabwe. Secondly, the Christian atmosphere at ACC also added strength to my decision of making an application to study at this school. I believe for our faith to grow and be strong, we always need the fellowship where the community of believers can meet and strengthen each other through the sharing of the word of God. I have witnessed the power of God working to transform his people.
During my stay at African Christian College, I have experience a lot of wonderful things. The school offers good leadership courses and due to this, I have acquired different skills necessary for one to become an effective leader, whether in the church or any other company or organization. For instance, servant leadership teaches that leadership is not about position, but it is about influencing change by motivating followers with a realistic vision.
I believe what I wanted when I was applying to be one of the students at African Christian College have been fulfilled. I now see myself as a leader who is well equipped with leadership skills. I also see myself as the one who can counsel my congregants to be able to solve problems without causing conflict in their families. All these skills, I have received from the school which tells us that the school is a centre of transformation.
According to my experience, I see African Christian College as one among the outstanding Christian colleges in Africa, equipping Africans with skills and knowledge for the greater good both in their families and outside their families. To other potential students, God needs you to help in the transformation of communities, and African Christian College has opened the doors for those who want knowledge for task.
