Finding Success at Mliba Church of Christ

  • We are focusing on establishing more branches so that we can reach more people

There are so many great achievements that our fellow Christians in eSwatini are doing in order to make the spreading of the gospel easy and manageable

Mliba Church of Christ developed useful programs that are helping the church to grow both spiritually and in number.

Firstly, the church developed a youth program where the youth meet to encourage each other through sharing the Word of God.

In addition to sharing the Word of God, the youth are encouraged to give money at the end of each month. Through their contributions, the church is able to purchase food and transport for events and evangelism. Their giving is part of the church’s success.

Secondly, the church developed a feeding program where kids from the surrounding community are fed. This encourages parents to work hard in the church to help support their children. Not only are they fed, but they are taught to sing and pray during Sunday school. This is helping the church to build in their children the spirit of knowing God

Thirdly, the church also conducts follow-up evangelism. Members of the church — sometimes with the help of students from African Christian College — go out to evangelise in the community. The church then makes follow up visits to every home that was evangelised to see how they are responding and if they can help them in any way.

This helps the church not just preach, but to meet needs and connect with community members. People feel cared for and begin to build relationships through these home visits. They begin to feel they are part of the church and come willingly

Finally, the church also developed leadership committee. All leaders are assigned different programmes such as the youth, feeding, and evangelism. The committee meets to discuss the success and challenges of the programmes. They seek new ways of developing the church.

For instance, they are now preparing to build a bigger church building because they have outgrown their current space. They already prepared the bricks. This helps the church to work toward the vision of reaching many people with the gospel.

Mliba church of Christ has found these activities so helpful in their congregation. Currently, the church has over 70 members who are stable and actively participating in their church activities.
