We are continuing with introducing our First Year Class. Today we present to you a gentle woman from Zimbabwe. She says that her decision to come and study with us was inspired by her brother, who happens to be an alumnus of ACC. Hilda hopes to grow more into Christlikeness during her stay at ACC. Read her story.
My name is Hilda Buzuzi from Zimbabwe, in the Southern part of Africa. I am a single young woman born on 17th December 1986 at Old Mutare Mission. I grew up in a devoted Christian family of six, myself being the fifth. The faith I saw being lived out in my family through my childhood greatly impacted me. As a result, I dedicated my life to Jesus Christ through baptism on the 3rd of September 2003, at the age of sixteen.
I got to know about African Christian College through my brother Wellington, who was in the class of 2010. The way he articulated about how this institution grooms and transforms students to know more about God`s word and form a Christ-like character really inspired me. So I decided to give it a try and I applied for the 2018 enrolment.
I have to admit that I had little faith of being accepted. However, my being accepted here worked as an assurance that God has a purpose he wants me to fulfil through ACC. That’s when I decided to leave my home and family to come and learn more about God’s Word. Four months down the line, I can boldly say that life at campus is good. We are living as one family, and every day we gather together as a community in the chapel to worship, pray and give praises to our mighty God. This has motivated me to grow in Christlikeness as a Christian. It is my hope that I will grow more and more in knowing God, subsequently leading me to loving him and his people.
