My name is Goodenough Magwaza from Mbekelweni, Manzini, Swaziland. I always wanted to go for tertiary education, and over the past 10 years I applied to almost all the teaching colleges in Swaziland. However, my applications were not successful. It was a jovial moment and a dream come true when I was accepted here at ACC. I was well received by the brothers who were already here in the dormitory, Charity, Watipatsa and Sabelo. All along I had never lived outside home and it was a new experience to live in a different commune. The first days were not easy for me since this was a new life where I had to adjust and adapt to the new environment. I was advantaged to have classmates who were selfless as they helped me with my assignments. Classes were never easy and needed a lot of hard work and total commitment to our studies.
After ACC, I am planning to venture into microenterprise to increase my revenue, alleviate poverty in my family and community by equipping others. That is the reason I chose the Organizational Leadership major, and I am excited about the knowledge I have acquired from ACC. Furthermore, I do not regret coming and spending these years at this institution because I have tasted the fruits of leadership when we were doing internship with World Vision for practical experience. Through my education, my family, church, community and country will benefit as we are going to learn from each other.
Amongst other things I like here at ACC is the fellowship I enjoyed with my colleagues from other countries because I learnt what other cultures do. As a result, I now have a network and family from other countries. ACC has become my second home and the fountain of knowledge. My wish and prayer is that may many African women and men come and be equipped so that they may go and make impact in their communities.
