My name is Chanda Mulenga from Zambia. I will graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a major in counselling from ACC in 2015.
I came to ACC specifically accompanying my husband who wanted to further his studies. I had no intentions of attending classes. But I later developed an interest to attend class.
Being at ACC has taught me a lot in many areas of my life. I learnt to be a servant and to put others before me. In all the classes I attended, I learnt something new from my lecturers.
My understanding of the Bible is broader than before. Also I learnt to be a critical thinker.
Furthermore, all my lecturers who took their time in teaching me were kind and patient. They were always there whenever I needed help with school work. Not only did I learn in the class, but also outside class. I learnt about different cultures and languages through the interaction with my fellow students who were from other countries.
ACC became part of me. And the relationship which I established with others really taught me a lot. Everyone I came across made a difference in my life.
In my counselling classes I was been challenged to think for myself and understand the worldview of others. I learnt how to accommodate others despite different personalities.
During my stay at ACC, I was volunteering in the chicken project. I enjoyed serving in this department and I learnt a lot concerning on how to raise chickens.
With the knowledge I obtained at ACC, I will use it to help people wherever the good Lord will take me. I also plan to work as a teacher as well as a counsellor.
To my fellow students, put God first in everything you do because his the one who has begun a good work in you, and he will bring it to accomplishment. To the Staff, may the good Lord continue to bless you, and give you more wisdom as you work with each other in love, and in unity.
Last but not the least, to the prospective students: African Christian College is a good place to be. Trust me, you learn much not only inside of class but also outside class.
