This post is part of a series of posts from our graduating third year students. Today’s post is from Loice Cheruiyot from Kenya. On 29 November 2014 ,she will be graduating with her Bachelor of Theology degree from African Christian College with a major in Counselling.
My name is Loice Cheruiyot from Kenya, Rift-valley province, Kericho County. I am married to Willy Cheruiyot. We came here in 2011 and this is our fourth year at ACC. I want to thank my husband for accepting to wait for me to finish my degree level because we were supposed to go home after his graduation last year. My gratitude goes to the president and the entire staff who allowed us to stay for the fourth year.
I am now a third year who is anticipating to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology with a major in Counselling. I have acquired great knowledge in both fields and gained more experience.
I am going home a changed woman who is now capable of helping others in terms of counselling, equipping other women, youth and Sunday school kids to grow spiritually in the kingdom of God.
I have gained skills in different places of work provided here at school. I have worked in the orchard and also gained other skills like tailoring with the help of Joan Van Rheenen, Janet Allison, Pam De Oliveira and Susan MacDonald. May the Lord bless you all for being part of my life.
I am who I am now because of ACC.
The college has played a vital role in my life because I have learnt how to interact with people from different cultures or countries that are existing at the college. My worldview now has been changed and I have also learnt that there is no culture that is superior to the other. We are all united as brothers and sisters in God’s kingdom. Christian culture brings all the different cultures together.
