This post is part of a series of posts from our graduating third year students. Today’s post is from Xolile Bhembe from the Kingdom of Swaziland. On 29 November 2014, she graduated with her Bachelor of Theology degree from African Christian College with a major in Counselling.
My name is Xolile Bhembe from Swaziland, Manzini region in a place called Mankayane. I was born on 1st June 1991. Coming to ACC has been a great blessing for me I have learned a lot. When coming here I didn’t know much about God but my spiritual life has been nourished and equipped to the stage where I am today.
When coming to ACC I had my own expectations about the college but what I found was different. Everything worked exceedingly well. Living in a Godly community for three years has completely transformed my life. I found a loving and caring family at ACC. My past had challenged me to live a certain kind of life. I was someone not so confident standing and saying something in front of people, but today I can boldly stand.
I always wanted to work with people but I never knew how. Through African Christian College that equipped me, I can now stand and save the world. My life has been transformed spiritually, intellectually and emotionally. Some of the things I learnt were very practical. That gave me lot of skills. From class and even outside class I learned things I never knew. The work offered gave a chance to learn. Some of the classes would go out and to the real world and experience real situations with people, especially evangelism and counselling.
African Christian College has a lot of voluntary work which assisted me in the learning process. Above everything I have seen at African Christian College, I have seen God working exceedingly and abundantly in my life. Meeting people from different countries with different cultures was also exciting. I learnt a lot of things from brothers and sisters who are from different places. I will live to respect other people’s cultures in spite of the differences we have.
I love singing I would love to highlight one of the songs I love. I composed it and it kept me going for three years in good and bad times.
