This post is part of a series of posts from our graduating third year students. Today’s post is from Emmanuel Kalua from the warm heart of Africa, Malawi. On 29 November 2014, he will be graduating with his Bachelor of Theology degree from African Christian College with a major in Counselling.
Change has really been hard for me since I relocated to Swaziland.
When I came to ACC, I thought I knew everything but as I progressed in my first year, I realised there were a lot of things I never knew both spiritually and intellectually.
In my second year, my knowledge increased even more through the extensive learning while in class and outside classes. For example: respecting everybody’s culture and beliefs; accepting one another and, more precisely, I became wiser beyond just intellect.
The most valuable character I have obtained is humility. I gave myself room to learn from everyone and now I am better than I came.
My thanks be to everyone who stretched their hand to help me grow spiritually, intellectually, mentally, physically and also develop good social relationships with people of different backgrounds. This to me is SUCCESS!
