Meet our first years! In the first few weeks of 2013, our first year students had a class assignment in Computer Skills to type a personal introduction and tell “Why am I at African Christian College?” In this series, you get to meet the students in their own words…
My name is Ephraim Phiri, I was born on 2 July 1986 in Chipata town, Eastern part of Zambia. I am the second last born in a family of six boys. I completed my secondary school in 2006 in Chipata town where my father has been preaching in the Church of Christ for over 30 years. Since I enjoy my father preaching God’s Word, I developed that interest and attitude to be like my father.
Then I started looking at ways of acquiring more knowledge on God’s Word but before I came to ACC I went to Mulungushi University where I graduated with a diploma in Management of Information Systems in 2009.
In January 2013 I came to ACC because I want to learn God’s words not only for my spiritual growth but also for the expansion of the kingdom of God. Mark 16:15 says, “Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
ACC has been preparing and equipping men and women of God for excellent service for decades now. It has made its mark in Southern Africa. This greatly contributed to making my decision to apply for a place here.
ACC has excellent, balanced and the best experienced faculty in this part of Africa capable of offering degree programs.
ACC’s BTh curriculum is one of the best in the sense that it does not only offer theory but also a hands-on experience. It pleased me to make a choice of coming to ACC because I believe that for someone to understand God’s words they must also understand the world around them.
ACC gives that opportunity for students who are doing BTh to choose a major of their choice among the three majors that are being offered which are Counselling, Ministry, and Leadership majors. I came here that I can obtain a BTh with a major in Leadership so that I may be able to provide leadership and assist my community in many aspects and of course anywhere God leads me.
