Female students lead in new Chapel

Women's Chapel
Joan Cheptot (3rd year from Kenya) leads singing in the first women’s Chapel

We are blessed with a growing number of female students studying for a degree. Many join their husbands in furthering their education while on our campus and will serve as congregational leaders alongside them when they return home. These women will teach children and adults, organize retreats, lead workshops, evangelize, and be examples and leaders in their congregations and communities.

For many years, African Christian College has held classes and worked to equip the wives of our students while we’ve had them on campus. Most of the wives on campus these days are in the full curriculum.

But, we recognized a gap in our contextual education when it came to our female students.

We provide very little opportunity for women to speak, pray, read Scripture, or teach publicly. As our graduates they will learn much, but have little practical experience in these areas.

So, we’ve set out to remedy this gap in equipping women for excellent service. Africa and the church needs them as they teach, pray, lead, and serve in God’s kingdom.

Today, we began a new weekly Chapel service just for females on campus. It will continue each Thursday and allow our female students an opportunity to lead singing, teach from God’s Word, and lead public prayers.
