This week is finals week for our students as they complete the first semester of 2012. It’s a busy time of studying and completing projects and papers.
This time of the semester also means saying farewell to any visiting lecturers we have on campus. We rely on the expertise and generosity of guest lecturers throughout the semesters and midmesters each year. They bring energy, enthusiasm, experience, and knowledge to complement our on-campus lecturers and staff.
This semester we say thanks to Annette Whitaker. Annette taught World & African History to the second year class. Annette and her husband Bob are living with us on campus but will soon move nearby into Matsapha where they are working to open a medical clinic in partnership with the Matsapha Church of Christ.
We also say thank you to Hilton and Avanell Merritt. This is not the Merritt’s first time on campus teaching and they always bless us in many ways. Avanell taught English I — a very important foundational course for our first year students — and Hilton had the second and third year students in Preacher’s Life & Work.
