Tuesday 6 November 2012 wasn’t just an important election day in the United States. Students also set aside, coincidentally, that day to elect the 2013 members of the Student Representative Council.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) acts as the official organization of the students to promote an environment for growth spiritually, mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. The elected members of the SRC serve to coordinate activities and events for the student body, oversee student groups, and partner with the administration to ensure ACC is the best it can be for students.
Students established the SRC earlier in 2012 and most of the first set of elected members will be graduating next month. A Constitution has been written and is currently undergoing review by the students before final review.
The newly elected members of the SRC are:
- Harun Miheso (Kenya) – Chairperson
- Tsitsi Nherera (Zimbabwe) – Secretary
- Walter Chuunga (Zambia) – Disciplinary
- Frantic Dlamini (Swaziland) – Academics
- Felix Rawago (Kenya) – Work & Projects
- Michael Masumba (Malawi) – Sports & Recreation
- Ronald Kiprotich (Kenya) – Emergency & Entertainment
- Tabo Mukwenda (Zambia) – Emergency & Entertainment
